Baby Quilt/Blanket for Sale

This baby quilt/blanket is handmade and design by me. Great piece as a gift or for your baby boy or girl to use. Unique and one piece only. 100% cotton designer and branded cloth and cotton threads are used to sew this.

Size : approx 87cm width x 117cm height (approx 34" x 46")
Using Warm and Natural cotton batting which is suitable for use in Summer/Singapore's weather. It uses no chemicals, glues, or resins, which is gentle enough for baby or young children.

NHK Sutekini Handmade - Atsuko Matsuyama Monthly quilt "Fruit Fantasy" Sew A-Long Block 2 - Cherry Applique (NHKテレビテキスト すてきにハンドメイド 松山敦子のマンスリーキルト「フルーツ・ファンタジー」)

Today, I will be sharing with you the Block 2 of the recent Atsuko Matsuyama Monthly quilt sew-a-long which is the Cherry Applique. I have not done a single applique before as I also feel scared to sew one. To me, it takes a lot of handsewing skills to sew up a applique on a cloth. In fact, I have never use a machine to sew up one too.

This time, I took up a personal challenge to try on one.

I traced all the parts onto a freezer paper which I bought one box at Cold Storage at Kallang Leisure mall (next to Stadium MRT station). I cut them up and ironed on the right side of the fabrics that I am going to use. I cut the fabric about 3cm from the border of the freezer paper template before I sew. I used the same coloured thread as the fabric used so that it will look neat on the side.

To be frank, my hands were shaky but then I could always unstitched if it was done poorly. With more practises, I managed to overcome the fear and finished all the parts before I embroider. I used 2 strands …

Instagram is my most frequently used mobile apps that I love to use during my free time. I like to take a snapshot of my current and finished projects and uploaded there, in addition to searching interesting patchwork hashtags to get inspirations and knew like-minded sewists. Sadly, nowadays, there are sponsored posts appearing in Instagram which I do not really like especially not related to my interest.

Recently, I chanced upon a Japanese magazine monthly handsew-along activity (SAL) in Instagram. I tried to ask but I could not communicate in Japanese. Luckily one Instagram user can speak English and she has directed me to this magazine for the SAL. I was so happy that my local Kinokuniya main store sells this monthly magazine.

Actually, there isn't much patchwork or quilting as compared to the magazine on the left. There are more crocheting and dress making. There is an enclosed actual size of the templates of the tutorials in the magazine. I like it so much!
